Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning

Signature MK uses diesel particulate filter solutions to ensure that your vehicle runs smoothly, working on all vehicles but specialising in PSA Group cars. We have been offering DPF cleaning and repair solutions in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.

DPFs trap carbon soot particles from exhaust emissions and when the filter needs emptying, a a light will come on in your vehicle. When this happens it is important to come and see us. It is illegal to remove your DPF as your vehicle will fail its MOT and you are liable to be fined.

The usual process that a DPF gets rid of particles is through regeneration, which happens at speeds of above 40mph and if your car has been running for more than 10 minutes. A DPF or engine management light will come on when this does not happen of its own accord. If you ignore this, other problems can begin in your car and you will have to force the regeneration to happen through a garage. Forced regeneration is needed when active regeneration hasn’t been achieved and your car is likely to enter a restricted performance mode to prevent further damage.

What can prevent normal regeneration taking place?

Cleaning the diesel particulate filter instead of replacing: Efficient & fast.

The Problem:

The electronic indicator lights, the vehicle has no more power and extremely high fuel consumption. The diesel particulate filter has only a limited capacity to store particulates. From a certain amount of soot, the soot particles must be burned in a regeneration process to CO2 and ashes. Different reasons can mean the regeneration process does not start and in consequence the DPF gets clogged with soot particles.

Possible Causes:

  • Defective or not fully functioning injectors
  • Different qualities of fuel or bio fuels
  • Short distance driving profile
  • Wrong grade oil

Solution:

Signature MK uses a patented particulate filter cleaning system with which clogged particulate filters can be cleaned in an installed condition, rapidly, simply and significantly more economically than replacing them.

  • Used when regeneration is no longer possible
  • Cleaning to almost new condition possible
  • No expensive new installation
  • Cleaning without disassembly of the particulate filter
  • Non-flammable
  • Neutral ash and metal-free formulation
  • Evaporates completely
  • Compatible with other materials

An overloaded DPF: That is expensive.

For replacement of the part customers have to pay a lot of money. For a new diesel particulate filter, it can cost between £600 and £4000. In addition, a prolonged stay in the workshop and a rental car has to be organised. Signature will clean your DPF filter for the fraction of the cost as a replacement DPF and get you back on the road the same day. Cleaning instead of replacing Optimal customer service

  • DPF functional again in the shortest possible time
  • DPF cleaning without expensive new installation
  • Technical approvals from leading car manufacturers
  • Huge cost savings
  • Preventive measure to keep your customers permanently mobile
  • Already more than 100,000 times successfully applied

EGR Problems

The Problem

Loss of power, rough idle and elevated emissions result in more and more expensive repairs. The increasingly common causes of this are dirty or stuck EGR valves and carbonised parts in the intake and exhaust system.

DPF Removal is not a legal option

It is suggested from time to time that the answer to failed DPF regeneration is get the DPF removed from the exhaust system rather than pay to get it repaired/renewed. DPFs are fitted to meet European emissions regulations designed to reduce vehicle emissions of particulate matter (soot) associated with respiratory disease and cancer. According to the Department for Transport, it is an offence to use a vehicle which has been modified in such a way that it no longer complies with the air pollutant emissions standards it was designed to meet. Removal of a DPF will almost invariably contravene these requirements, making the vehicle illegal for road use. Your DPF will be checked during an MOT and if it is missing, you will fail your MOT.

Solution (EGR System Cleaner)

The innovative XFoam technology dissolves stubborn contamination in motor vehicle intake and exhaust system very quickly. The outstanding spraying and wetting characteristics ensure the product quickly takes effect, does a very good job of dissolving dirt and has excellent flow properties. This is the optimal product for cleaning EGR Valves and small/large components in intake and exhaust systems.
